You're standing up for threatened wildlife
Environmental Justice Australia lawyers, for the Wilderness Society, are taking the Australian government to court.
Our client says successive Environment Ministers have failed to make Recovery Plans for threatened species.
“Too many of Australia’s most iconic and threatened species don’t have Recovery Plans. Successive Environment Ministers have failed to make them, or let them expire. Some of these animals are in grave danger of extinction.”
– Ellen Maybery, EJA Senior specialist lawyer
You're backing Traditional Owners to protect Country and Cultural Heritage
On behalf of Senior Larrakia Traditional Owner, Mr Tibby Quall, our legal team has filed a legal challenge over the removal of 10 Aboriginal cultural artefacts from Binybara/Lee Point without due process.
“To many, the country is just desert landscape – exhausted pasture or potential mineral wealth.
But to Tibby it’s alive, with the reminders of his culture.
This is about our client’s right to protect sacred sites and the cultural and natural heritage of Binybara and its surroundings.”
– Jane Quinlan, EJA senior lawyer

You're protecting water from fracking in the Northern Territory
On behalf of our client Lock the Gate Alliance, EJA lawyers filed a court case to protect water in the Northern Territory from the impacts of fracking.
This Federal Court challenge is against Tamboran B2 Pty Ltd’s proposed plans to frack fifteen gas wells in the Northern Territory’s Beetaloo Basin, near the town of Daly Waters.
Lock the Gate has filed this landmark challenge because it believes Tamboran’s plans are a serious risk to groundwater in the Northern Territory.
This is the first legal challenge to fracking under the water trigger in Australia’s national environment laws.
You're supporting young people fight for climate justice
On behalf of nine young people from across Australia, EJA lawyers have just submitted a formal complaint to the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Climate Change.
Our client’s are calling out the Australian government for its lack of action on climate change, which they say is violating their human rights.
Generation Justice is living the reality of a world in crisis, and they’re hoping the UN will amplify their voices, demanding accountability from the Australian government to protect young people's rights.
