Over the past thirty years, we've represented and partnered with hundreds of public-interest and environmental justice clients.
We stand alongside our clients at the frontlines of environmental harm and climate damage, and fight together for justice and a healthy world for all.
Meet some of our clients and partners:
The Environment Council of Central Queensland (ECoCeQ)
This volunteer-run community group acts as a voice for the environment in the region. Surround by reefs, rainforest, koalas, and a staggering number of coal mines, ECoCeQ formed out of rapidly growing concern for the health and future of the local environment and our climate.
Environmental Justice Australia represents ECoCeQ in their Federal Court climate cases to protect our living wonders from climate harm.
"We’re doing this because we’re so tired of the sound bites. So tired of photos of ministers posing with koalas, saying all the right things but failing to act."
— Christine Carlisle, ECoCeQ President
Friends of Leadbeater's Possum
Friends of Leadbeater’s Possum is a group of volunteers who raise awareness of the plight of wollert (Leadbeater's Possums) and advocate their needs for survival in the wild.
When citizen scientists documented sightings of wollert and warnda (Greater Glinders) in more than 100 of VicForests’ logging coupes in the Central Highlands forests, Friends of Leadbeater's Possum knew it was time to act.
Environmental Justice Australia represented Friends of Leadbeater's Possum in three-year David and Goliath court battle to protect threatened wildlife from logging.
"It has been a privilege to work with EJA on our overwhelmingly successful case against VicForests. The EJA legal team has lead us confidently through a very complex court process and ensured we have access to the best possible advice and representation. We are grateful to EJA for the opportunity to hold a powerful government logging corporation to account."
— Steve Meacher, Friends of Leadbeater's Possum
Mine-free Glenaladale
This group of farmers, residents and concerned community members led a strong campaign to stop a 1,675-hectare open-cut mine, the Fingerboards mineral sands / rare earths mine, in Glenaladale Gippsland.
Environmental Justice Australia represented Mine-free Glenaladale at public hearings to protect the community from the harm of a mineral sands mine in Gippsland.
"Our community is deeply grateful for the legal guidance, advocacy and representation and support provided by EJA. It ensured our community was able to participate as a respected party, exposing important matters that would otherwise have escaped attention."
— Mine-Free Glenaladale Inc.
