Young people are over it.
They’re over climate inaction. They’re over new fossil fuel projects being approved, and they’re over being ignored.
So, they’ve turned to the United Nations to hold the Australian government to account.
On behalf of nine young people from across Australia, we’ve lodged a formal complaint with the United Nations Special Rapporteur on Climate Change. They say the Australian government’s lack of ambitious action on climate change is violating their human rights.

This UN complaint was prepared in the context of an uninspiring and unambitious Labor government.
But with an election now imminent and Dutton’s gas-fuelled disaster looming, their message has never been more urgent: climate inaction is violating human rights.
Meet Generation Justice – the young people taking Australia to the UN: www.generationjustice.org.au

Generation Justice are living the reality of a world in crisis.
They’re the generation that will face the full impact of the climate crisis – extreme heat, disasters, displacement, and economic turmoil.
But this isn’t a far-off future. It’s happening right now.
They hope that the UN will amplify their stories and push the Australian government to take responsibility for failing to protect young people's human rights in the face of catastrophic climate change.
This is about justice. For us, for our communities, and for young people everywhere.
We’ll keep you in the loop on everything to do with their complaint, but you can show your support for these young people and their fight for climate justice by:
