Rivers are our lifeblood – from the magnificent Murray to our internationally recognised wetlands to all of the small local creeks and waterways that we love and enjoy.
They provide us with water to drink, help grow the food we eat, cool our cities and give us places to swim and play, and are home to a vast amount of diverse wildlife.
Decades of mismanagement and overextraction, along with the impacts of climate change, have left our magnificent rivers polluted and running dry. It’s critical that we restore the health of our rivers so our lifeblood can thrive again.
We represent community groups working to protect and restore Australia’s waterways. We run groundbreaking court cases to strengthen our legal system and secure long-lasting protections for our rivers, wetlands and waterways. And we support Traditional Owners restoring health to river Country and Culture.
