Introducing our new staff and Board members

We are thrilled to welcome two new staff members and two new Board members to our team. All bring a wealth of experience and a passion for environmental justice and we are looking forward to the exciting things we can do with our increased capacity. Georgia Rowles joins us as EJA’s Digital Marketing and Data Coordinator, Matija Sraj as our Media Adviser; and Tony Kelly and Arjuna Dibley join us as new Board members.  

 Media Adviser – Matija Sraj 

Matija comes to us with lots of relevant experience and a passion for environmental justice and the law. He is a lawyer as well as a communications specialist! He has worked as a Paralegal and Research Assistant in the past and has recently been managing his family’s legal practice which includes appearing at VCAT and supporting Indigenous clients pro bono. Matija has several years experienced working for the Australian Greens as Media and Communications Adviser to Senator Janet Rice and for the Victorian Greens doing communications, campaigning and fundraising. He has also worked as a journalist and presenter for community radio. 

Digital Marketing & Data Coordinator – Georgia Rowles 

Georgia comes to us from Australian Youth Climate Coalition (AYCC) where she has been working as the Partnerships and Grants Manager managing stakeholder relationships with corporates, philanthropists and private donors and executing key marketing and digital fundraising campaigns to raise funds, acquire new supporters and raise AYCC’s profile. Georgia also has over six months experience volunteering at the Climate Council where she assisted with communications, developed strong media relations and executed fundraising strategies along with two years’ experience as Marketing and Partnerships Manager at The Human Rights Arts and Film Festival (HRAFF), where she managed the marketing, fundraising and operational activities.  

Tony Kelly – Board Member  

Tony Kelly is a lawyer and CEO of First Nations Legal and Research Services. He has over 10 years’ experience working to advance Traditional Owner rights and interests. Tony has extensive board and governance experience and is currently a director of the National Native Title Council. Tony also has an environmental science background and has worked as a park ranger in the Northern Territory. 

Arjuna Dibley – Board Member 

Arjuna Dibley is a former corporate lawyer and now a researcher who specializes in climate change law and economics. He is currently a research fellow at Stanford University. He has experience working with for profit and not for profit boards on strategy, corporate governance and legal issues.
