Australians demand clean air

Recently we asked people around the country to urgently contact their state environment minister and demand action to protect our clean air.

State, territory and federal environment ministers are currently in dialogue about possible action to improve national clean air standards and protect the air we all breathe. We heard that a meeting was taking place, and put out the call far and wide to email relevant state and territory environment ministers.

The response was fantastic. In just a few hours, more than 1200 submissions were received. All of them were CC’d to Federal Environment Minister Greg Hunt, so we are hoping that the Federal Minister now understands that Australians from all around the country want urgent action to control air pollution and protect our health.

Ministers are expected to make a decision by the end of June. We’ll keep you posted on any developments.
